For thirty five years , Mesón Panza Verde has meant one particular kind of Antigua: cobblestones, a courtyard, a fountain running somewhere just out of sight.

 

Sky Dancer Villa is the other kind. It sits above the valley in San Cristóbal El Alto, where the town becomes a scatter of terracotta roofs below and the volcanoes hold the horizon — Agua to the south, Fuego and Acatenango to the west, occasionally putting on a show.

 

It exists because guests kept asking us for the same things. A family that wants a whole house rather than three rooms. A couple staying a month, who would like a kitchen. A wedding party looking for somewhere to gather the night before, with a pool, and no lobby to walk through.
